Installation and Setup
Installing Planning module is easy. It involves uploading module files to server, activating the module and allowing access to the module via system roles. This article describes the installation process for Planning module and Tickets Plus hacks for activeCollab.

NOTE: Tickets Plus hacks are included with Planning Module.
Here’s the process
1. Upload
- Extract Planning module installation package and upload content of
for-uploadfolder to your activeCollab server using FTP or SFTP client. (If you are using activeCollab version prior to 2.3, please use the folderfor-upload-2.1.4+) - Make sure you upload it within your activeCollab root folder. Match activeCollab folder hierarchy with extracted folders to confirm. Also ensure you upload all three folders –
activeCollab,configandpublic.
2. Install
- Login to your activeCollab installation as administrator.
- Go to
Administration -> Modules. - You should see
PlanninginAvailable modules. - Click on the
Installbutton. Wait for installation to complete. - Planning module will be installed.
3. Configuration
Planning module is not visible by default to users other than Administrators. To enable it:
- Go to
Administration -> Roles - Edit a
System Roleyou want to enable Planning Module for. - Check “Yes” for
can_see_planningand / orcan_update_planning. - Submit and save the role.
- Repeat this for any other roles as needed.
- Planning Module should now be available as a tab after selecting a project.
4. Planning data in activeCollab
- Planning module adds extra fields to activeCollab to help plan things better. These fields (estimate, start date, workflow status etc) will be visible in activeCollab UI once you upload all files to the server.
- These hacks are called Tickets Plus. They are available separately too, but included with Planning Module as well. The
for-uploadfolder contains Tickets Plus files too.
CAUTION: Backup your existing aC files before overwriting them with our hacks.
You may need to delete all files in the “compile” folder within aC for the new changes to work.
