Comments on: activeCollab Feather – are you ready for it?

So we set up a test instance of activeCollab 5, and migrated a copy of our data. The new version is very fast, pretty, and completely worthless to us without Time Reports Plus. With the inadequate reports we will need to either stick with activeCollab 4, or move to a new system.

Any hope of porting Time Reports Plus to activeCollab 5, now that there is a self-hosted version?

You are right. There is not project management system that serves everyone’s needs. Do let us know if you find something that works for you…

So it has to keep being done until someone does it right. So far I have yet to find a PM software that can do everything my company needs to do with it. It looked like AC would be the answer until I discovered all the stuff I was reading was about the old version and that AC5 was worthless.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they did away with “Heartbeat” because it caused a ton of problems in the beta release. Search is now handled server side with Elasticsearch.

Agreed! They were very nice and sold me a copy of AC 4xx for my new install. Thanks IIija! As I see it its still one of the best solutions on the market because of the community driven aspect and its just built well.

So that means I will be coming to you guys for the wordpress connector!

You are not alone! I too feel that they could do better with a community around activeCollab. As it stands, they’ve killed it.

There are a handful of other promising solutions. So kind of worried about activeCollab itself! Whether we like their current direction or not, their past contribution is immense.

Chronograph and Time Reports is something we’ve thought of bringing to aC5. It’s on highest priority.

Still not receiving encouraging response from activeCollab about API based integrations. So waiting…
