+ Labels are sorted by workflow position in admin panel now

Fixes:
- Adding new workflow label did not set positions correctly. Fixed.

Assignments Plus was only accessible to people with Project Management (and above) privileges so far – because it was visible only in the “Reports and Filters” screen. But now you can let everyone in your team benefit from the power of assignments plus by creating a homescreen tab for “Assignment Plus Filters”. You can even select a filter to apply.

Here’s the full changelog:

Enhancements:
+ Added ability to export assignments in HTML and CSV format
(CSV format does not show grouping yet…)
+ Added ability to print assignments
+ You can now add Assignments Plus filters as a Homescreen Tab and use them
even for people who don't have access to Reports & Filters section

Fixes:
- Database query error about "start_on" field not being present
- "Failed to execute query" error when grouping by milestone.
- Some assignments were missing from the results
- Assignment labels did not display correctly

A mantra that inspires us every morning, and had us release 5 product updates today

July 15, 2012

When I was in school, they’d make us shout the schools motto loud and clear. I kept on calling it at the top of my voice year after year. Sometimes when I’d sit with myself, I’d whisper it to myself. Trying to understand what it meant…

I realized the true meaning of that mantra a decade after leaving school…

The mantra was:

Better Everyday!

Knowingly or unknowingly, that mantra has become a part of myself now. It’s into my core belief system and hence a core principle for Apps Magnet’s operations as well.

Better Everyday. Continuos Improvement. Kaizen. Iterative Development. Daily Standups. Weekly Reviews. Monthly Goal Setting….

What really matters is not whether you are better than others, but whether you are better than your former self.

That’s the mantra that inspires us every morning. Gets us to keep innovating.

And that’s what got us release updates to five products today.

  • Planning module 3.1 – many improvements, cards view is back
  • Tasks Plus 3.0.4 – bug fixes and activeCollab 3.1.10 compatibility
  • Reports Plus 3.0.2 – minor update to check Tracking module presence on installation
  • Notifications Plus 3.0.1 – Fixes a query error
  • Time Reports Plus 3.0.2 – minor update to check Tracking module presence on installation

You can download these updates from your My Account page.

So, how did you improve from yesterday?

Color your activeCollab

July 11, 2012

Do you want to color your activeCollab? Not happy with the default color scheme?

While theme support for activeCollab 3 is not yet available, it’s easy to customize activeCollab’s color scheme if you use our Bespoke module.

Jacques Island from Inquesta Corporation, a Bespoke customer, told me he wanted to change activeCollab color scheme, but didn’t know what CSS to change. So I went ahead and created a Bespoke snippet!

This snippet changes colors for the top tab bar, list of items on the left and the background of entire activeCollab. You can replace color values in the CSS with your own colors and paste it in the CSS section within Bespoke. Save, refresh, and off you go!

So what’s your favorite shade?

How to determine whether one of our products is activeCollab 3 compatible?

June 22, 2012

If you are looking for activeCollab 3 compatible version of one of our products, there are couple of simple ways to determine if a product has been ported to activeCollab 3.

Check the product catalog for “AC3″ tag

All activeCollab 3 products are tagged with “AC3″ in our product catalog. This tag is shown next to the product name in the all products listing. It is also shown on right just above the “additional properties” tabs on individual product pages.

Check if the version number begins with 3

From within the My Account area, you can check if the version number of a product begin with 3 (for example 3.0, 3.0.1 etc). If it does, then it’s the activeCollab 3 edition of the product. All activeCollab 2 products will have version numbers lower than 3.

Multi version downloads

If a product does not have version number displayed, it’s most likely ported to activeCollab 3 and the .zip file download contains both activeCollab 2 and activeCollab 3 versions. You can confirm this by looking at the product catalog – the product will have both “AC2″ and “AC3″ tags.

Renamed / Merged Products

Some products are renamed in activeCollab 3 to match new terminology. E.g. Tickets Plus is renamed to Tasks Plus. Reports is renamed to Reports Plus. If you purchased an activeCollab 2 version of the product, we have also added the renamed aC3 version of the product in your available downloads.

We have also merged Housekeeping, Incremental Backup, acGarage Lite and Gravatar into a single acGarage Plus product for activeCollab 3. If you had any of these products for aC2, you will need to re-purchase acGarage Plus. To compensate for the possible loss, we have included $10 store credit with acGarage Plus.

Discontinued Products

Some products will not be ported to activeCollab 3. Mainly because that functionality is already incorporated in aC3. Such products include: Copy Pages and Discussions acHack, Latest Comments First acHack and Inline Pagination acHack.

Confidential Items is not yet ported to aC3. We want to make it available for aC3, but haven’t yet found a “clean” way to implement it.
